Abstract: This dissertation is the result of the research that we have developed during the Professional Masters in philosophy, in the "philosophy and teaching" research line, in order to accomplish the master's degree. The main objective of this work in to analyze the potentialities which are in the habermasian theory of communicative action in promoting an emancipatory philosophy teaching. This one, differently from Kant's Idealism's proposal, centered on categorical imperatives and the subject's a priori, proposes itself a posteriori, through dialogical way, to take to a rationally motivated consensus. Twenty-eight (28) between 17 and 18 year old students, that were part of a third grade high school at the course of professional technical education of UTFPR, have participated at this research. We have made use of questionnaires and interviews with focalized groups before and after our practical intervention, in order to be able to measure our hypothesis, which is: how much the Habermasian theory, either as theoretical reference present in the curriculum, or as theory that illuminates the teaching practice, helps to achieve a bigger autonomy before a critical perception of the society. We have realized, with the aid of pre-established criteria, that the provoked call for a communicative rationality on the students along the lines of Habermas enlarges, both quantitatively and mainly qualitatively, its will-formation and, consequently, providing them more analysis and positioning autonomy. It's intended here to point to new possibilities of approaching the teaching/learning and emancipation relationship, starting from a communicative rationality, and not finishing a debate that echoes in the horizon of the philosophy teaching in Brazil for so many years. Keywords: Communicative action. Emancipation. Philosophy teaching.
