Um Revérbero bom e belo : a poesia de Ernst Herbeck em tradução

Abstract

Resumo: Esta dissertação tem por objetivo o estudo e a tradução de poemas e textos curtos em prosa do austríaco Ernst Herbeck (1920-1991), cuja produção literária ocorreu integralmente dentro da clínica psiquiátrica de Maria Gugging, onde foi internado logo após o fim da Segunda Guerra Mundial, sob diagnóstico de esquizofrenia. Para tanto, apresenta-se inicialmente uma biografia do poeta, dandoo a conhecer ao leitor brasileiro. Num segundo momento, investiga-se o conceito de esquizofrenia e de linguagem dita "esquizofrênica", a fim de perscrutar se e em que medida o conhecimento dessas peculiaridades poderia contribuir para esta tradução. Em seguida, realiza-se um estudo da poética herbeckiana. Barbara Smith (1971) embasa o conceito geral de poesia adotado nesta dissertação; e Gisela Steinlechner (1989); W. G. Sebald (2002, 2013) e Uwe Schütte (2006, 2017) fundamentam a análise das especificidades da obra poética de Herbeck. Expõem-se, então, a discussão teórica sobre o procedimento tradutório aqui empregado, a qual envolve a problematização da pertinência de associar-se o princípio de bricolage ao procedimento herbeckiano de recombinação de fragmentos da linguagem, segundo a leitura que Sebald (2002, 2013) faz desse conceito de Claude Lévi-Strauss (1989); e o conceito de trava, que aqui se esboça. Abstract: The aims of this dissertation are the study and the translation of poems and short texts in prose composed by the Austrian poet Ernst Herbeck (1920-1991), whose literary production occurred entirely within the psychiatric clinic of Maria Gugging, where he was committed shortly after the end of World War II, under the diagnosis of schizophrenia. To this purpose, it initially presents a biography of the poet, in order to introduce him to the Brazilian reader. As a second step, it investigates the concept of schizophrenia and the so-called "schizophrenic" language, in order to examine whether and to what extent the knowledge of these peculiarities could contribute to this translation. Then, it carries out a study of Herbeck's poetry. Barbara Smith (1971) provides the bases for the general concept of poetry adopted in this dissertation, while Gisela Steinlechner (1989), W. G. Sebald (2002, 2013) and Uwe Schütte (2006, 2017) support the analysis of the specificities of Herbeck's poetic work. Then, it presents a theoretical discussion about the translation procedures adopted in this work, which involves the problematization of the pertinence of associating the principle of bricolage to the herbeckian procedure of rearrangement of language fragments, according to the interpretation that Sebald (2002, 2013) proposes for this concept of Claude Lévi-Strauss (1989); as well as the concept of trava, which is outlined here.
