Abstract : Today, there are many discussions about cost reduction, processes reduction, reworks eliminate, and other concepts explored by the philosophy of Lean Manufectoring. The calculate base for our point of order, or we can call as "replacement point" has as the main offender the Lead Time of total supply chain. For this reason, the lead time becomes the greatest villain of the inventory, because if we have some kind of disability in our supply chain, this will be impact in the material replacement total time, and the consequence is that we have more inventory quantities, in other words, financially speaking, we will be employing more capital in stock for that inefficiencies are "masked" and our client have the services level of we desire. In this article, we’ll discuss and simulate how the lead time impacts on the calculation of reorder point and inventory costs. We'll also simulate with real database from a company that manages MRO inventory, the possibility of capital reducing employed in the negotiations inherent to Lead Time manufacturing, and the supplier delivery can be optimized. After presenting the characteristics of the calculation bases and the results found during the simulation, it’ll make evidence that all efforts on lead time negotiating will be welcome, because it may reduce the capital employed according to the aggressiveness of negociation, or even reach the level of excellence employing JUST-IN-TIME.pt_BR
