Paródia, carnavalização e erotismo : o feminino (re)valorizado em o evangelho segundo Jesus Cristo e Caim, de José Saramago

Abstract

Resumo: Uma das maiores influências da sociedade ocidental é o Cristianismo. Dogmas e costumes permeiam a cultura e guiam tanto os fiéis quanto os demais. Contrário a esse domínio cristão, José Saramago apresenta em suas obras, principalmente nas paródias dos textos sagrados, questionamentos a respeito destes padrões e das leis impostas, especialmente considerando a Igreja Católica. Dentre essas indagações estão temas que vêm sendo amplamente discutidos, como a posição da mulher na sociedade e o erotismo. Ambas as temáticas servirão de base para nosso trabalho. A presente dissertação apresenta um estudo a respeito da paródia, da carnavalização e do erotismo O foco é dirigido para as personagens femininas, nas obras O Evangelho Segundo Jesus Cristo (1991) e Caim (2009), de José Saramago. Nessas narrativas, a paródia, tanto a medieval teorizada por Bakhtin (1996) quanto a moderna teorizada por Hutcheon (1985), aparece como elemento de (re)construção das personagens nas novas versões das histórias bíblicas. Embasados nas teorias de Bataille (1987), Richards (1993) e Whitmont (1991), desenvolveremos a análise a respeito do modo como o erotismo é vinculado ao texto no sentido de ressaltar o feminino. O erotismo representa um elemento de libertação e empoderamento de Eva, Lilith, Maria e Maria de Magdala, personagens que na ficção renovam as figuras tradicionalmente propagadas pela Religião, mas também questionam dogmas e leis religiosas. Abstract: One of the major influences of Western society is Christianity. Dogmas and customs permeate culture and guide both the faithful and others. Contrary to this Christian domain, José Saramago presents in his works, especially in the parodies of the sacred texts, questions about these standards and imposed laws, especially considering the Catholic Church. Among these questions are topics that have been widely discussed as the position of women in society and eroticism, both will be the basis for our work. This paper presents a study about the parody, the carnivalization and eroticism, focusing on female characters in the works The Gospel According to Jesus Christ (1991) and Cain (2009), by José Saramago. In these narratives, parody, both medieval theorized by Bakhtin (1996) and modern theorized by Hutcheon (1985) appears as part of a (re)construction of the characters in the new versions of biblical stories. Based upon the theories of Bataille (1987), Richards (1993) and Whitmont (1991), we will develop the analysis about how eroticism is bound to the text in order to highlight the feminine. Eroticism is an element of liberation and empowerment of Eve, Lilith, Mary and Mary of Magdala, characters that, in these novels, renew figures traditionally propagated by religion, but also question dogmas and religious laws.
