La revista de Buenos Aires : construindo a nação argentina através da história durante a década de 1860.

Abstract

Resumo: Nas últimas décadas, houve um aumento considerável nos estudos históricos sobre construção das identidades nacionais. Apesar de muitos trabalhos terem privilegiado a Europa, desde o início do segundo milênio diversas pesquisas sobre a construção das nações Latino-Americanas foram desenvolvidas. Entre os países estudados destaca-se a Argentina. Nesse sentido, esta pesquisa analisará a produção histórica da La Revista de Buenos Aires: Historia Americana, Literatura y Derecho, periódico publicado em Buenos Aires entre os anos de 1863 e 1871 sob a direção de dois intelectuais: Vicente G. Quesada e Miguel N. Viola. Essa fonte é composta por 96 números divididos em 24 tomos de 650 páginas cada. Os números são divididos em três seções: história, literatura e direito, e um apêndice denominado bibliografia e variedades. Devido ao grande número de artigos, decidiu-se analisar textos selecionados da seção de história, principalmente os relacionados à guerra de independência. Tendo em vista que esta área do conhecimento foi fundamental para a formação das identidades e sentimentos de pertença nacional durante o século XIX, objetivou-se compreender de que modo a história publicada na revista contribuiu para a formação da identidade argentina.

Abstract: In recent decades, there has been a considerable increase in historical studies about the construction of national identities. Although many studies have favored Europe, since the beginning of the second millennium many researches about the construction of the Latin American nations were developed. Among the countries studied stands Argentina. Therefore, this research will examine the historical production of the La Revista de Buenos Aires: Historia Americana, Literatura y Derecho, journal published in Buenos Aires between the years 1863 and 1871 under the direction of two intellectuals: Vicente G. Quesada and Michael N. Viola. This source consists of 96 numbers divided into 24 volumes of 650 pages each. The numbers are divided into three sections: history, literature and law, and an appendix named varieties and bibliography. Due to the large number of items, it was decided to analyze selected texts from the history section, especially those related to the war of independence. Given that this area of knowledge was crucial to the formation of identities and emotions of national belonging during the nineteenth century, this research seeks to understand how the history published in the magazine contributed to the formation of Argentine identity.
