Um estudo das categorias funcionais em textos escritos de deficientes auditivos

Abstract

Resumo: A partir dos principios da teoria da sintaxe gerativa, este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a aquisição de categorias funcionais na modalidade escrita da linguagem de deficientes auditivos, por entender que através de dados da escrita é possivel encontrar indicações da competencia lingüistica desses sujeitos. A análise de dados se baseou em textos produzidos por deficientes auditivos para os exames de vestibular de 1995 e 1996 da Universidade Federal do Paraná e, também, em textos de alunos oralistas e bilingües entre nove e vinte anos, com surdez congênita profunda bilateral. A escolha desses sujeitos para a composição do corpus se deu pela intenção de estabelecer uma comparação entre a aquisição lingüistica de deficientes auditivos oralistas e bilingües. Com base nas pesquisas de OUHALLA( 1991 ) , GUILFOYLE & NOONAM(1989), PLATZACK(1995), HAGIWARA(1995), GREGOLINGUINDASTE( 1996) entre outros que direcionaram a análise dos dados, ficou evidente a ausência de categorias funcionais na aquisição da linguagem escrita de deficientes auditivos, bem como o fato de que a emergência dessas categorias acontece de forma hierárquica na estrutura, ou seja, da categoria funcional mais baixa para a mais alta na sentença. Além disso, verificouse a permanência de dificuldades em formar cadeias que requerem muitas projeções de categorias funcionais para realizar a checagem morfológica. Isso, provavelmente, pela parametrização lingüistica que se dá tardiamente nesses sujeitos.

Abstract: Starting from the principles of the Generative Syntax Theory, this production has the goal to anlyse the acquisition of functional categories in the writing modality of the language of the deaf persons, by understand that through some data from writing it is possible to find indications of these individual' linguistics competence. The data analysis was based on texts produced by the deafs who intend to be accepted in the Federal University of Paraná in 1995 and in 1996 and also on texts by some students between nine and twenty years old, with deep bilateral congenital deafness from two special schools, one oralist and the other bilingual. The selection of these individuals to compose the corpus ocurred with the intention to stablish a comparison between the linguistics acquisition of the oralists deaf and the bilingual ones. Based on researchs of OUHALLA(1991), GUILFOYLE & NOONAM(1989), PLATZACK(1995), HAGIWARA(1995) and GREGOLINGUINDASTE( 1996) among others, who guided the data analysis, the absence of functional categories became evident in the deaf persons' writing language acquisition, as well as the fact that the emergency of these categories occours in a hierarchical form in the stucture. It means that it appears from the lowest functional category to the highest in the sentence. Moreover it was verified the permanence of difficulties to organize chains which request a great deal of projections from the functional categories to realize the morphology check. It probably happened due to the linguistics parametrization that takes place late in these individuals.
