dc.description.abstract | Representing n-dimensional combinatorial objects has an important role in solving complex problems in physics,mathematics and engeneering. Therefore we suggest that effort should be put in the design of such representations. This work reports on a data structure for representing n-dimensional combinatorial manifolds, and operators aimed at the creation and the modification of the structure.We compare such a structure with other representation schemes. A definition of combinatorial manifold is presented, stressing the fact that not always a combinatorial structure is a combinatorial manifold. We discuss the validity of such a representation, whether it describes a manifold or not, and its completeness in relation to the operators. | pt_BR |
