Abstract: Based on the point of view of the classic Variational Calculus, we present the Control Theory, so that we will treat ir as a theory that has the Variational Calculus as a particular case. Theregore, once introduced the classical theory of the Variational Calculus, we present the Control Theory, and the Optimal Control Theory, so that we prova The Maximum Principle of Pontryagin, which leads to its application on manifolds, more especifically on Lie groups and Lie algebras. Finally, we introduce the theory for Lie algebroids. Therefore we aim to iniciate de reader that has a previous knowledge of the Variational Calculus, into the Control Theory, so that in the end he has a small sample of the theory in a more abstract form.
