Abstract : This paper aims to present through the research that exposes here a relation between the critical construction about the formal education presented by the philosopher of education John Dewey and the consequences that this formulation of education had in the relation of the individual with his social life. Trying to understand if the educational system is related to what may become a process of social massification. In order to better acclimate the school space and the consequences that an isolating space can have on an individual, the concept of Total Institution expounded by sociologist Erving Goffman will be used, thus interweaving Dewey's concepts of common social life and communication with those of deculturalization and mortification of the self from Goffman. To conclude the desired course and to conclude how education influences a mass social process, we will use the text Education After Auschwitz by Philosopher Theodor W. Adorno, intertwining with other concepts the question of manipulative character and the reification of the individual. in a process of barbarism caused by the lack of education and enlightenment of people.
