Obstrução urinaria mecanica em caprinos machos : estudo etiologico, anatomo-patologico, histoquimico, morfometrico e clinico cirurgico
Abstract
Abstract: It was carried out a preliminary experiment regarding the ethiology of calculose urinary in goats. For this purpose, four differents treatments were provided to four males used as experimental animals. For each separate treatment, a survey in the changes in blood and urine components was performed. However, in spite of the fact that we were unable to reproduce the disease in such experiments, significant changes in some of the blood and urine parameters, as well as in the body weight were obtained. Morphological altera tions , followed by histopathologic;.).I. methods were also found. Furthermore, it has been carried out clinical and anathomopathological studies with a group of eigth goats affected with mechanical urinary obstruction. Those animals entered the University Veterinary Hospital for clinical treatment during the period of January 1986 through August 1989. It was concluded that the treatment of obstructive urolithiasis is primarily surgical. Concomitantly,.as alternatives for the therapeutics of obstructive urolithiasis, two surgical procedures were tried: the perineal urethrostomy and the retractor penis muscle myotomy. The perineal urethrostomy showed to be a suitable technique for the treatment of this illness. On the other hand, after the retractor muscle penis myotomy, it was impossible to catheterize the male-goat bladder. Due to the scarce information found in the literature on the normal urethra of the male goat, a study on the histology, the morphometry and the histochemistry of this organ was performed. Then, it was determinated the male-goat urethra histology and it has been observed that the urethral muscle in goats displays anaerobic metabolism being, this way, a fast contraction muscle.
