A questão ético-estética entre kant e Sartre
Abstract
Abstract: Whereas Sartre situates the work of art, and more specifically literature, immediately to the level of the Kantian categorical imperative, and that Kant, by his turn, raises the beautiful as a symbol of morality, the object of this research is to clarify whether the separation between ethics and aesthetics, for both authors, it is legitimate. If, for Sartre, aesthetics is at the imaginary plan and ethics is in the real, how to conceive of intersubjectivity without first paying attention to the freedom in the practical instance between the author of the work and the public to whom it is directed? Also, if writing, for Sartre, is the constitution of subjectivity and reading is an appeal to intersubjectivity, in Kantian idealism that polite and objective request is only available with the spontaneity of reflection. For both philosophers the judgment of the reader, therefore, should definitely be free. However, this freedom, when the activity of reflection, implies in Sartre some distortion in accepting the aesthetic universality almost as an imperative. So this is the reflective judgment that Sartre says to immerse in the imaginary in order to stop the passivity of the reader to make him to be an active being, positioning itself in the world to take concrete action on it. As for Kant, the universality of beauty required by the taste should not be understood as an imperative, but a possible judgment in the reflection of each one. Now, through this study, we.ll see that, for both, there is autonomy of aesthetics in relation to ethics, but not in an impartial way, but likely an aesthetic derivation of the moral field.
