Abstract: This work presents the specie Citharexylum myrianthum Cham, from the family Verbenaceae focalizing structural aspects of the leaves and chemistry composition of the barks and leaves. The anatomy features were studied using both light and scanning electron microscopy. The venation pattern is pinnate, camptodromous, eucamptodromous. Stomata of the anomocytic type occur on both surfaces of the leaf, having stomata predominantly on the abaxial surface. Simple and glandular trichomes occur on both surfaces of the leaf. The mesophyll has dorsiventral organization. The epidermis of the abaxial surface exhibits sinuates anticlinal walls. The leaves investigation resulted in the probable isolation of the flavonoid, of the methanolic fraction, recognized through Ultraviolet Spectral analysis and by Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, however, the chemistry structure still was not totally elucidated and news determinations were being realized. The preliminarys pharmacologys analisis was realized with the aqueous brute lyophilisates extract of the leaves, with the following: General Test of Activity (TGA), determination of Dose Letal 50 %, and Extravascular mobilization of leukocytes. From the determination of DL50, injected intraperitoneally, the result was 5,0 g/kg and from the Extravascular Mobilization of leukocytes, the aqueous brute extract of the Citharexylum myrianthum Cham, didn't show any response anti-inflammatory with the methodology utilized. The microbiological analisis demonstrated that the hydroalcoholic brute extract of the leaves, in the concentration of 40 µl (400 µg), shown completely inhibited growth of the Staphylococcus aureus.
