Abstract: Pellets are solid biofuels produced from the compaction of lignocellulosic biomass and other industrial waste. The search for new sources for the production of these biofuels has been growing considerably in European countries and the Americas. Floated sludge is waste generated in large quantities in effluent treatment stations (ETE), mainly in industries such as slaughterhouses and slaughterhouses. Among plant materials, elephant grass has been the subject of studies due to its high productivity and energy potential, which generates advantages in terms of time and availability. Therefore, the pelletization of these biomasses and their combination would have promising potential for producing pellets for energy. In this sense, the objective of the present work was the production of pellets from a mixture of the biomass of Capim BRS Capiagu, and floated sludge from poultry and fish slaughterhouses. The proposed mixtures resulted in pellets with different sludge insertion proportions (0, 10, 20, 40, 60,80 and 100%). The material was compacted in an ATX Pelletizer. The pellets were characterized by immediate analysis; apparent and energetic density, higher calorific value and thermogravimetric analysis. The variables humidity, fixed carbon, volatile materials and ash content, as well as the higher calorific value of the pellets, were evaluated using analysis of variance. With the addition of sludge to the elephant grass biomass, there was a decrease in the fixed carbon and ash content and an increase in the content of volatile materials and calorific value. The apparent density of the pellets ranged from 870 to 1298 kg m-3, with the lowest density being for T7 (100% silt) and the highest for T1 (100% grass). In the thermograms, there are similarities between the different treatments, regarding the greater or lesser addition of sludge to the mixture, treatments with less sludge inclusion have the characteristic of degradation of lignocellulosic material. The estimated equations allow the variables humidity, fixed carbon, volatile materials and ash content, as well as the higher calorific value of the pellets to be estimated, representing an advantage in relation to cost and time in predicting these values. Considering the analyzes carried out, it was possible to verify that the pellets produced have energy potential, being an alternative to regional energy demand.
