A Curitiba não imaginada : percepção de comunidades periféricas sobre os imaginários visuais da cidade

Abstract

Resumo: Esta pesquisa, desenvolvida a partir das proposições da fotoetnografia, busca identificar a visão sobre representação e pertencimento do cidadão curitibano periférico em sua cidade. A partir deste do ponto central de discussão, buscou-se identificar a percepção do pertencimento entre o cidadão curitibano periférico e o ecossistema da cidade e de sua região. A pesquisa visa compreender de que forma o morador da Vila Torres, sob o viés dos imaginários urbanos, sente-se representado por Curitiba e também qual o recorte da cidade ele percebe como representação da sua identidade. Tendo como ponto de partida a participação no projeto Ciudades Latina Imaginadas em la era digital, na cidade de Curitiba, a dissertação busca, a partir do uso de imagens fotográficas, identificar e representar de forma antropológica a percepção do imaginário urbano na capital paranaense, pelo ponto de vista da comunidade periférica da Vila Torres. Para a realização da pesquisa, a qual tem como método central a proposição de método o uso da fotoetnografia de Achutti (2004), foi realizada a imersão na comunidade. Após este período e de aproximação e contatos locais, foi realizada uma estratégia de realização da pesquisa utilizando como ferramenta uma oficina de fotografia. O objetivo foi de compreender a percepção do cidadão periférico, sobre a região, bairro e cidade em que reside, resultando em um material de análise fotoetnográfica a partir das fotografias produzidas pelos moradores das comunidades, participantes da pesquisa. Como etapa final dos procedimentos, foram realizadas entrevistas com 5 participantes da pesquisa. Foi identificado o modo de expressarem sua visão sobre o processo de captação das imagens, como veem a importância na fotografia da construção dos imaginários sobre a cidade e, particularmente, sobre a comunidade que habitam e como esta se insere nos imaginários sobre Curitiba. Os resultados obtidos nesta pesquisa visam contribuir com as investigações sobre os imaginários urbanos de forma descentralizada, com a pesquisa na área da fotoetnografia e com a cidade em seu sentido histórico e material. Por um viés antropológico, este projeto apresenta suas qualidades, diversidade social e cultural, identificando e compreendendo a pluralidade e a importância destes espaços para que, acima de tudo, torne-se um registro temporal de seus elementos e espaços físicos. Assim, os resultados da fotoetnografia realizada demonstra-se a diversidade de realidades presentes em um mesmo espaço urbano, criada por indivíduos pertencentes a uma sociedade da qual, apesar de usufruírem de sua estrutura, hábitos e significados, comumente são invisibilizados.

Abstract: This research, developed based on the propositions of photoethnography, aims to identify the perspectives on representation and belonging of peripheral citizens of Curitiba in their own city. Stemming from this central point of discussion, the study sought to recognize the sense of belonging between the peripheral Curitiba citizen and how they’re part of the city's ecosystem at those regions. The research aims to under-stand how residents of Vila Torres, through the lens of urban imaginaries, perceive their representation by Curitiba and also which parts of the city they perceive as rep-resentations of their own identity. Initiated through participation in the project "Ciu-dades Latina Imaginadas en la era digital" in Curitiba, the dissertation employs photo-graphic imagery to anthropologically identify and represent the perception of urban imaginaries in the capital of Paraná, from the standpoint of the peripheral community of Vila Torres. The research methodology, anchored in Achutti's (2004) proposition of photoethnography, entailed straight immersion within the community. Following this period of local engagement and interaction, a research strategy was executed using a photography workshop as a tool of investigation. The objective was to comprehend the perception of peripheral citizens regarding their residing region, neighborhood, and city, resulting in a corpus of photoethnographic analysis generated from photographs produced by the community residents who participated in the study. As a concluding step, interviews in person were conducted with 5 research participants. The research identified how they express their views on the image-capturing process, how they per-ceive the significance of photography in constructing urban imaginaries, particularly those surrounding their own community, and how it fits into the imaginaries about Curitiba. The outcomes of this research aim to contribute to investigations of decentral-ized urban imaginaries, within the domain of photoethnography research, and to the city itself in its historical and material sense. From an anthropological perspective, this project showcases its strengths, social and cultural diversity, identifying and compre-hending the plurality and importance of these spaces, with the ultimate goal of becom-ing a temporal record of their elements and physical spaces. Thus, the results of the conducted photoethnography highlight the diversity of realities present within the same urban space, shaped by individuals belonging to a society whose structure, habits, and meanings they benefit from, yet are often rendered invisible.
