Abstract: This research approaches Paulo César Pinheiro’s work through his theme about the sea, preparing an argumentative hydrography that crosses remote and current questions concerning ethnic encounters that make up brazilian population and its cultural manifestations. From an exusiac epistemology, I open wings of a bird-researcher singing along the author interfluves that constitute our identity fictions, looking for opening, diffusing and honoring the vast production of the poet as well as conceptually contribute to the everlasting debates that compose brazilian social thought. By this way, I draw an itinerary in a river-becoming, in spiral turnings between poetry and songs of the writer. This investigation departs from the Source of Paulo César Pinheiro’s life and self-fiction, is irrigated by Tributary Rivers that revolve brazilian ethnic mixture since song’s gestational period in colonial context, discharges in a Main River of country’s festivities and religiosities and, lastly, gains the Sea, where waters merge identity processes, in national and personal scale. In this research, I use the skill of mandingar the artist’s work, I defy hegemonic historiography sayings and I keep myself loyal to a bordering and plural view that informs the paradigm of what I define as cabocla historiography.
