| pt_BR |
dc.description.abstract | Abstract: Obtaining methane from the methanation reaction, which basically consists of converting H2 and CO2 into CH4 and H2O, is a renewable alternative for diversifying the global energy matrix. Due to its unfavorable reaction kinetics, the use of catalysts is necessary. In this sense, the present work aimed to evaluate the performance of Ni catalysts supported on silica of the MCM-41 type, synthesized by the wet impregnation method, in the CO2 methanation reaction. The catalysts were activated in situ using H2 at 40 mL.min-1 at 600°C for 4 hours. The catalytic tests lasted 2,5 hours and were carried out under atmospheric pressure with 0,6 g of catalyst mixed with 1 g of silica gel. The reaction variables were with nickel mass contents of the catalysts (5% and 10%), temperature (T= 400 °C; 550 °C), reactant ratio (H2/CO2 = 4; 2,5) and speed spatial (VHSV= 5 L.g-1.h-1; 10 L.g-1.h-1). The catalysts were characterized by BET, DRX, MEV, EDS (before the reactions) and ATG, MEV and EDS (after the reactions). From the reaction variables, an experimental design - DOI with 2 factors and 4 variables was carried out to study the interference of the reaction conditions in relation to the catalyst selectivity, conversion of reactants and reaction yield related to CH4 and CO. The analyzes indicated a high specific area, particle size varying between 200 and 900 nm, with smooth spherical morphology with superficially impregnated nickel. The reaction temperature was the most significant variable for the results, as well as its relationship with space velocity. Both catalysts showed catalytic stability. The results showed that the performance, considering the two catalysts, in relation to the response variables was better for 5%Ni/Si-MCM-41. The best result was obtained in the reaction with a ratio between the reactants equal to 2,5, space velocity equal to 5 L.g-1.h-1 and reaction temperature equal to 550 ºC, obtaining 93,7% selectivity to methane, 69,4% conversion of CO2, 74% conversion of H2 and a yield to methane of 20,69%. The best result found for the catalyst 10%Ni/Si-MCM-41 was obtained in the reaction with the ratio between the reactants equals 4, space velocity equal to 5 L.g-1.h-1 and reaction temperature equal to 550ºC, obtaining 92,6% of selectivity to methane, more than 52% of conversion of reactants and a yield to methane of 13,85 %. | pt_BR |
