Comportamento altruísta em crianças de dois a cinco anos

Abstract

Resumo: O comportamento altruísta, também estudado sob os rótulos de comportamento pró-social, bondade, cuidado, é um comportamento de natureza moral essencial para a manutenção das relações humanas, está associado ao desenvolvimento socioemocional adequado e é um potencial inibidor do comportamento antissocial. O que é de extrema relevância, sobretudo na infância, já que a maioria dos comportamentos morais tem seu início nessa fase. Este estudo teve por objetivo investigar o relato verbal de crianças com idade de dois a cinco anos diante de situações-problema que trouxeram oportunidades para emissão de comportamentos altruístas. Adicionalmente, foi investigada a percepção de pais e professores acerca das possíveis escolhas da criança. Os resultados demonstraram que mais da metade das crianças indicou respostas altruístas adequadas à situação-problema em questão. O que indica que, desde muito cedo, as crianças são sensíveis às necessidades de outros e torna possível refletir sobre as diversas formas pelas quais pais e professores, enquanto figuras de referência, podem planejar oportunidades para o exercício efetivo do altruísmo. Abstract: The altruistic behavior also studied under the labels of kindness, care, pro-social behavior, kindness and care, is a behavior of moral nature essential for the human relations maintenance, is associated with adequate socioemotional development and is a potential inhibitor of antisocial behavior. This is extremely relevant, especially in childhood since most moral behaviors begin at this stage. This study aimed to investigate the verbal report of children aged from 2 to 5 years in the face of problem situations that have brought opportunities for the altruistic behaviors expression. Additionally, the perception of parents and teachers about the child's possible choices was investigated. The results showed that more than half of the children indicated altruistic responses appropriate to the problem situation in question. This indicates that from an early age children are sensitive to the need of the others, and make it possible to reflect on the various ways in which parents and teachers as reference figures can plan opportunities for the effective exercise of altruism.
