Memória gráfica de Manaus-AM : impressos efêmeros do Teatro Amazonas (1940)

Abstract

Resumo: A presente pesquisa possui um tema relativamente novo a nível local e nacional, vistos que os efêmeros nos estudos da cultura material e visual recebem mais destaque na investigação histórica. O objetivo do trabalho foi reconstruir a memória gráfica da cidade de Manaus, AM, através dos impressos efêmeros do Teatro Amazonas, no período de 1940 a 1949. A pesquisa histórica foi adotada como o método base para a dissertação e tem, como complemento, os procedimentos metodológicos, como: revisão bibliográfica, pesquisa empírica, pesquisa documental, analítica formal e simbólica. Nesse caso, leva-se em consideração também a questão geo-histórica, na qual a espacialidade é a realização da história, ou seja, é apresentada a história do Teatro Amazonas, a cidade de Manaus e o design gráfico na década de 1940. Ao final do processo de investigação, é possível ver os impressos devidamente catalogados e categorizados que constituem a memória gráfica da cidade de Manaus, cujos registros ficaram e servem de testemunha dos feitos daquela sociedade no tempo e no espaço. Com este trabalho, o material encontrado torna-se acessível de maneira pública, de modo inédito, e difunde o conhecimento sobre o Acervo Histórico do Teatro Amazonas, democratizando o acesso à informação. Os impressos efêmeros do Teatro Amazonas da década de 1940 são fragmentos da história local, mas que possuem uma dimensão histórica muito maior ao se pensar nos modos de fazer em que a herança portuguesa foi muito importante para o ofício do tipógrafo, como dito pelo historiador Loureiro em uma conversa informal. As coleções criadas retratam o circuito cultural com apresentações de concerto, recital, festas artísticas, comédia, audição de piano, sessão solene, grupo teatral e diversas que somaram 77 impressos efêmeros do Teatro Amazonas. Tornam-se fontes com inúmeras informações sobre a história cultural, as técnicas de produção dos impressos e o consumo do artefato como meio de difusão cultural. Os impressos efêmeros do Teatro Amazonas servem de contraponto à história dita oficial, que intitula o período estudado como anos de crise, por alguns historiadores, mesmo que a Batalha da Borracha tenha sido significativa para a economia amazonense. Além de fatores para a história econômica, outro foco pode se dar à história política em que muito impressos mostram espetáculos realizados para homenagear figuras políticas. Abstract: The present research has a relatively new theme at local and national level, seen on studies that ephemeral material and visual culture are given greater emphasis to the historical investigation. The objective was to rebuild the graphics memory the town of Manaus, AM, through the ephemeral printed the Amazonas Theater in the period from 1940 to 1949.
