This work investigates the influences of family, school and professional contexts on the development of educators with disabilities or with deafness. With the goal of obtaining the subjects' own points of view about the episodes that have marked their completion of various educational levels, their option for the teaching career and their professional practice, semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight teachers (three with deafness, three with blindness and two with physical disabilities) who work on Basic or Higher Education in the regions of Curitiba and the coast of Paraná. The qualitative analysis of the experiences reported by the respondents points out the significant importance of the contexts investigated, as well as the different reactions of the individuals, along the lines indicated by Bronfenbrenner and Vygotsky - the authors who provide the main theoretical bases of this thesis -, which highlight the influence of sociocultural values on human development. It is also evident the importance of attitudes that awoke in the participants the impetus for independence and autonomy. The research also highlights the different opinions and suggestions of the respondents on inclusive policies for people with disabilities or with deafness. It is concluded that there is a pressing need for institucionalization of inclusive actions as well as for better information and disclosure within public policies about the actual conditions of 'sufficiency' and 'efficiency' of these people as a way of providing ethical and humanizing education.
