Filosofia e literatura : o caso dos contos de Voltaire

Resumo: Esta dissertação apresenta uma análise dos contos menores de Voltaire - de diferentes períodos - delineando sua estrutura literária e seu conteúdo filosófico para demonstrar como forma e conteúdo se relacionam nestas obras do philosophe. Iniciamos com uma análise das Lettres Persanes de Montesquieu, texto que terá grande influência no estilo da escrita de Voltaire, para, em seguida, trabalhar os textos do próprio autor, desde o primeiro, Sonho de Platão, até um dos últimos, Aventura da Memória (1775). Ao longo do texto serão abordados também trechos de obras dos autores que participam da estrutura ou do diálogo dos contos, como Platão, Leibniz, Condillac e Hesíodo. O objetivo é apresentar um panorama dos contos de Voltaire mostrando uma relação de comunhão entre filosofia e literatura. Abstract: This paper presents an analysis of the lesser tales of Voltaire - from different periods - delineating its literary structure and philosophical content to demonstrate how form and content relate to each other in these works of the philosophe. We start with an analysis of the Montesquieu's Lettres Persanes, text that will have great influence on the style of writing of Voltaire, for, then, work the author's own texts, from the first, Plato's Dream, until one of the last, Memory's Adventure (1775). Throughout the text will also be discussed excerpts from the works of authors who participate in the structure or the dialogue of the tales, like Plato, Leibniz, Condillac and Hesiod. The objective is to present an overview of Voltaire's tales showing a relationship of communion between philosophy and literature.
