Abstract: This study had as goal to investigate and to analyse the differences and similarities between the meanings produzed by teachers and those produzed by their students through reflexive process demonstrated through the speech and writing in an interview situation. The research work is characterized by using a qualitative approach in its investigation. We have outlined a method that gave voice to our collaborators, teachers and students. Two teachers have given individual interviews on the beggining and ending of this research. Apart from these, we also did one interview jointly with both teachers, and that was a very special moment in the research. The participants also solved one task with two equations, using or not using the scale. It was given the same task to a group of students of each teacher. Our analysis was carried out with basis in the involvement of the multiple voices of each protagonist. Among other conclusions and reflections this study refers to, it shows us that it’s urgent allowing the classroom to work as a communicative space where the algebra, rather than a marginalizated theme, can become an oportunity to have contact with a plurality of meanings.
