Abstract: ln this study an inquiry of the percentage of the native forest in great and small farms situated in the basin of the Piquiri and the Iguaçu rivers is presented. This inquiry had as study object 64 topographical letters produced between 2005 and 2008, being the raised data in loco according to the request of farm owners of some cities of Paraná state. One tried to obtain, specifically, to carry out a comparison of the conservation rate of PPA and LR among the categories of country properties, as well as, to analyze the rate of the area that was not used economically and the rate of the exceeding LR in the region which has been studied. The work demonstrated that in great country properties the rate of conservation of both PP A and LR is bigger. To add, it was observed that there is a total exceeding LR that varies from 7, 68% in great country properties to 8, 51 % in small ones. Thus, it is possible to understand that the rate of the area that is not used by country owners due to APP and LR is about 35 to 40 percent.
