Abstract: This research aimed to study the specie Dalabergia brasiliensis, belonging to the family Fabaceae. This study was conducted from the leaves and stem bark of this specie, collected in the city of Curitiba, which are prepared a crude ethanol extract that was fractionated into portions according to the polarity of the constituents. From the samples, by chromatography columns, were separed a mixture of two isoflavones in the chloroform fraction and a mixture of five steroids, in the hexane fraction from the stem bark. These were identified by RMN 13C and RMN 1H, as afrormosin and fujikinetin, and the steroids, cholesterol, stigmasterol, ? sitosterol, campesterol and stigmata 22 25 dien ol. The study of some biological activities with the fractions of the specie, showed high antioxidant capacity of the specie through phosphomolybdenum complexometry method and the assay of thiobarbituric acid reactive specie (TBARS), mainly the ethyl acetate and chloroform fractions of the bark, and the hexane and chloroform fractions of leaves. Regarding the toxicity test through micro crustacean Artemia salina, the samples showed no activity in the model tested. In the trial with Aedes aegypti, concludes that the extracts and fravtions of Dalbergia brasiliensis can act as pesticides to control the dengue vector, highlighting the chloroform fraction of bark that got DL50 and DL90 inferior to the others samples.
