Comportamento geoquímico dos elementos traço na fração dissolvida e particulada no CEP
Resumo
Resumo: O comportamento geoquímico dos elementos majoritários Al, Fe e Mn , e traço Ni, Pb, Cr e Cu, com ênfase na sua partição entre as fases particulada e dissolvida, foi investigado após um evento catastrófico de enchente e em uma condição de baixa pluviosidade em duas estações âncora na seção de Paranaguá e Antonina (eixo Leste-Oeste do Complexo Estuarino de Paranaguá). A salinidade, oxigênio dissolvido (OD) e material particulado em suspensão (MPS) também foram mensurados. Sob condições de alta pluviosidade as concentrações de elementos traço no particulado foram maiores durante a vazante indicando a influência da drenagem fluvial, porém, no período seco, as seções apresentaram respostas distintas com relação ao comportamento dos elementos traço. Em Paranaguá, o processo local de ressupensão de fundo disponibilizou maior quantidade de elementos na fase dissolvida e particulada. Na seção de Antonina, por outro lado, a maior influência dos rios e dos processos de dessorção incrementou os teores nas fases particulada e dissolvida, respectivamente e, de acordo com o gradiente da salinidade, tais processos foram mais acentuados. A diferença encontrada entre as duas seções foi evidente apenas no evento de enchente e relacionada à diferença das fontes, devido ao maior influência dos rios em Antonina em relação a Paranaguá. Constatou-se um enriquecimento antropogênico dos elementos traço na região de Antonina durante o período chuvoso, sugerindo que o aumento da lixiviação do solo aumentou a mobilização destes elementos na região. Abstract: The geochemical behavior of major (Al, Fe, and Mn) and trace (Ni, Pb, Cr, and Cu) elements was investigated with emphasis on its partitioning between the particulate and dissolved phases, after a catastrophic flood event in the region, and under a low rainfall situation at two anchor stations placed in Paranaguá and Antonina sections (E-W axys of the Estuarine Complex of Paranaguá). Salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO) and suspended particulate matters (SPM) were also measured. The levels of Pb and Ni in the dissolved phase were below the equipment detection limit during the whole work. . Under high rainfall conditions the concentrations of trace elements were greater in the particulate phase during ebb tide, indicating the influence of fluvial drainage. The more anoxic conditions during the high freshwater input in Antonina section were determinant on elements partitioning between the particulate and dissolved phases. Under low rainfall conditions both sections presented different responses regarding trace elements behavior: in Paranaguá section, the bottom resuspension provided a larger amount of trace elements in dissolved and particulate phases. In Antonina section the rivers influence and the desorption process increased the concentrations in particulate and dissolved phases, respectively, in more pronounced way according to the salinity gradient. The elements in particulate phase showed a similar behavior during the whole tidal cycle and the SPM controlled the concentrations in particulate phase. The anthropic influence in the region was detected by the Pb enriching at both sections of East-West axis from Paranaguá Estuarine Complex;
