O trabalho do professor de língua inglesa na formação inicial : um estudo de representações

Abstract

Resumo: Esta pesquisa pauta-se na compreensão do trabalho do professor de Língua Inglesa no curso de Letras. Seu objetivo maior é analisar representações sobre o trabalho do formador de professores de Língua inglesa, como representações sobre papéis que a discipli na de Língua Inglesa tem no curso, sobre os pares, alunos e os próprios professores enunciadores e, ainda, sobre as dificuldades percebidas pelo professor ao exercer o trabalho docente. Além disso, analisar os temas mobilizados pelo professor ao discutir s eu trabalho, as vozes que constituem seu discurso e, as relações que podem ser estabelecidas entre as representações do professor e o trabalho docente. Esse conjunto levou -nos a compreensão da constituição desse trabalho. A pesquisa se dá qualitativamente, por estudar o caso de duas professoras que ministram a disciplina de Língua Inglesa em um curso de Letras de determinada instituição pública de ensino superior no interior do Paraná, buscando um aprofundamento teórico-metodológico de análise de textos relacionados à atividade docente. A pesquisa se torna intervencionista à medida que as etapas da coleta dos dados se efetivam, sendo esta apoiada nas Ciências do Trabalho (CLOT, 1999/2006; CLOT e FAÏTA,2000, 2001), ao utilizarmos instrumentos de intervençã o como a autoconfrontação e, primordialmente, no quadro teórico-metodológico do Interacionismo Sociodiscursivo (BRONCKART 2006, 2007, 2008, MACHADO, 1998, 2004, 2005, 2007; BRONCKART & MACHADO, no prelo). A análise realizada é delimitada pelo nível organiz acional e enunciativo, conforme Bronckart e Machado (2008) e evidencia como, ao discutir a pergunta geral da pesquisa, outros aspectos do trabalho docente vão aparecendo de forma latente e como as representações acerca desse trabalho e das pessoas que estã o envolvidas nesse contexto interferem diretamente na atividade docente - por conseguinte, na formação em pré-serviço. Além disso, a análise proporciona uma reflexão sobre a complexidade constitutiva do trabalho do profissional docente de Língua Inglesa no curso de Letras. Trazer essa discussão à tona trouxe-nos, portanto, uma melhor compreensão desse trabalho específico e pode resultar em possíveis reformulações de currículos do Curso de Letras no que diz respeito à disciplina de Língua Inglesa , levando em consideração as dimensões que constituem o trabalho e os papéis da referida disciplina , justificando, dessa forma, esta pesquisa.

Abstract: The present research is about the comprehension of the English language teacher profession in pre-service teacher education, having as main objective to analyze the supervisor teacher’s representation about his own work; as well as representations about the English language subject roles in the pre-service teacher education; how the own teacher, their pairs and students are represented; and about the difficulties perceived by teachers related to their work. Besides, it was intended t o analyze the themes, and voices that constitute the teacher’s discourse and, relations that may be established between the teacher’s representations and the teacher’s profession. All this set led us to the comprehension of this work constitution. Such research is qualitative for studying the case of supervisor teachers from a Letras course at a certain superior teaching public institution of higher education, seeking for a theoretical and methodological deepe ning of texts related to the teacher’s activities and actions as well. The research becomes interventionist as the data collection stages are effective and this is supported by the Work Sciences (CLOT, 1999/2006; CLOT and FAÏTA, 2000, 2001) as interventionist instruments as auto confrontation is adopted and, primarily, in the Social-Discursive Interactionism (SDI) theoretical and methodological presuppositions (BRONCKART 2006, 2007, 2008; MACHADO 1998, 2004, 2005, 2007; BRONCKART & MACHADO, to be edited ). The analysis is delimited by the organizational and enunciative level, according to Bronckart & Machado and highlights how other aspects of teacher’s work appear in a latent way when discussing the general question of the research, and how the representations about this work and the people who are involved in this context interfere directly at the teacher’s activity - therefore, at the pre-service teacher education. Besides, the analysis provides reflection about the constitutive complexity of the English Language subject teacher’s profession at the pre-service teacher formation. Bringing this discussion to the surface can result into possible Letras Course curriculum reformulation with relation to the English language subject, taking into consideration the dimensions (PLACCO 2006) tha t constitute this referred work and the roles of the English Language subject in pre -service teacher education, justifying this research this way.
