A reintegração social dos ex-combatentes da Força Expedicionária Brasileira (1946-1988)

Resumo: Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar o processo de reintegração social dos ex-combatentes da Força Expedicionária Brasileira, entre 1946-1988. No total 25.334 militares singraram as águas do oceano Atlântico, sendo enviados para a frente de combate na Campanha da Itália, entre 1944-1945. Após o final da Segunda Guerra Mundial, ainda em solo italiano, teve início o processo de desmobilização e dissolução da FEB. Logo após a chegada do efetivo febiano em terras brasileiras, principiou uma nova batalha: a luta por reconhecimento histórico de sua participação na guerra e inserção social da sua memória, em função das dificuldades encontradas no processo de reintegração social e profissional. Para tanto, foram organizadas associações de ex-combatentes, entidades para prestar apoio e leis de amparo foram criadas. A primeira lei especificamente para prestar assistência aos ex-febianos foi editada no ano de 1946. Porém, passaram-se mais de quatro décadas para que todos ex-combatentes fossem assistidos por essas leis. No ano de 1988, com a promulgação da nova Constituição, de uma forma geral, todos ex-integrantes do efetivo expedicionário foram amparados pela legislação. Paralelo a isso, foram travados embates contra o isolamento e esquecimento por parte das autoridades governamentais e da sociedade da sua história e memória. Abstract: This study aims to analyze the process of social reintegration of former combatants of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force, from 1946-1988. In total, 25,334 soldiers sailed the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, being sent to the battlefront in the Italy Campaign, between 1944-1945. After the end of World War II, even on Italian soil, began the demobilization process and dissolution of the FEB. Soon after the arrival of effective Febian in Brazilian lands, began a new battle: the fight for historical recognition about your participation in the war and the social status of his memory, depending on the difficulties encountered in social and professional reintegration. It had been organized associations of former combatants, entities to provide support and protection laws were created. The first law specifically to assist former Febian was edited in 1946. However, it took more than four decades for all ex-fighters were assisted by these laws. In the year 1988 with the promulgation of the new Constitution, in general, all former members of the expedition were supported by effective legislation. Parallel to this, battles were waged against the isolation and neglect by government authorities and society in its history and memory.
