Abstract: The focus of the research is the reflection about the category Historical Empathy and its implication for History Didactics by the theoretical field of the Historical Education. Historical Empathy was originally valorized by Peter Lee in his analyses about the past comprehension thought of the English students, in which the ideas of empathy as a "realization" and empathy as a "disposition" were explicited, but not with an enough development, especially in what refers to the "disposition". Starting by Lee affirmations and confronting them with the ideas of Mattozzi (2005) and Loraux (1992), a theoretical construction was developed iving possibilities to the enlargement of the mentioned category, considering anachronical thought and feelings of the past as a part of the "disposition" of orientation of people in time, and making part of the Historical Empathy. This construction defines some possibilities of theoretical analysis to the proposed question of investigation, which the objective is to verify if occurs and how occurs the historical empathetical relation between young students of an popular urban neighborhood and some subjects of History starting from a RAP, knowing that this kind of music is recognized by an element of the first culture of that students. From the empirical study, that was realized at a class of the eightieth grade of schooling, it is possible to affirm that two factors had influenced the empathetical relations established between the young students and people of the past: first, the experience of their condition as young people of a popular neighborhood, experience that is signed by suffering; second, the denunciation of the social exclusion and violence against afro-descendents and poor people that the utilized RAP presents. Through their experience, the students were sensitized for History and have established a level of comprehension of the experience of people in other time, wich explicites a kind of historical empathy.
